My maternal grandmother had always been my best friend. After the Alzheimer's diagnosis, a lot has changed but not our love for each other. The affectionate reserve that my grandmother built with our relationship motivated me to leave my employment and college aside to take care of those who needed me. For six years I lived and struggled to accept and understand my grandmother's diagnosis. I started to study the subject, develop techniques and strategies and dialogue with the general public about aging, affective bonds and Alzheimer's, motivating to care healthy and raising awareness about a complexed disease. When I decided to leave the faculty of philosophy at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul to spend more time with my grandmother, the opinion of my friends was that she had already lived her life and that it was my turn to live mine. Contrarly I decided to take care of the last years of my grandmother denying a depression and making her live a great adventure. I created a Facebook page (facebook.com/vovonilva) to share our Day by day with some friends, but in a short time we already gathered more than 120 thousand participants that vibrated with our victories and wept when my grandma passed away. After that, I began to professionalize events and courses, lectures in various events and institutions at the invitation of major associations such as the Brazilian Association of Alzheimer's. I launched the two books that together, we have sold more than 150,000 copies in the last 3 years and I have done several actions and projects with the pharmaceutical industries, municipal and state governments, companies dedicated to the well-being of the elderly and hospitals. Over the last few years, I have developed projects linking the whole ecosystem involved in the disease (family, elderly, health professionals and society).
