Housing Choices is a small pioneering nonprofit which helps place people with developmental disability in affordable and appropriate housing of their choice. It also provides housing related support for those people it has placed. One of the earliest organizations with its mission, it has probably placed more people than any similar organization in California.This is simply a job that needed me and I am happy with it.

I am currently in retirement, but keeping actively connected to the technical world and active in volunteer work with the developmentally disabled. I still am working on solving complex technical problems and available for part time or consultancy

I worked on a variety of technical and manufacturing issues with a general focus on creating structures for recording heads at nano-scale. The result was process used to manufacture recording heads for ever increasing recording density.

I did a variety of things from basic research to manufacturing. I was co-inventor of the semiconductor laser and the video RAM. My team produced the first automated thin film metrology systems as well as the first fully "paperless" semiconductor FAB. I am know for The first models for photolithography which are the basis of what is used today. I was member (and president of) the IBM Academy of Technology. In the 1990's my focus moved to magnetic recording where I was involved in process technology for recording heads with an emphasis on building nanostructures that could be scaled as needed for future recording densities.
