About Wendy E. John
As a veteran of the retirement and financial services industry, I am passionate about helping people attain wealth and accomplish financial independence. I believe that health is wealth so first we must start with protecting our most important asset: YOU!My track record includes leading large change projects for clients and internally at Fidelity resulting in cost efficiencies and/or performance gains. I am a problem solver and thrive in ambiguity. I balance quantitative and qualitative skills very well and can lean into either as the situation requires. I recently completed Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program (AMP) alongside 170+ peer leaders from 50 countries and across 20+ industries. I learnt so much from them and the amazing faculty! In my most recent role at Fidelity, I led the Office of Diversity & Inclusion for 3 1/2 years from July 2020 through February 2024 before shifting my focus full-time to the AMP. During my extensive tenure at the firm, I have worked in various business leadership roles and therefore brought a business strategy approach to our Diversity & Inclusion efforts. For the majority of my career, I have been client- or customer-facing, which aligns with my core mission to improve outcomes and experiences for all. One fact was always true: elevating diverse perspectives helped to create the best outcomes. I have always been a champion for engaging people of all backgrounds and empowering them to bring their best selves to work. While I was lucky to have “diversity” and “inclusion” in my most recent job title, progress in these areas is driven by all of us, collectively, from the top of the house all the way down and throughout the enterprise. Making an impact is never about any one person. Mission and purpose-driven work demands a collective response. I am excited to have served as a catalyst in Fidelity becoming a more diverse and inclusive workplace that will in turn create relevant, differentiated experiences for our customers._______________________________Views expressed are as of the date indicated and may change based on market and other conditions.
