In this role, I managed 22 employees.My impact on the business:► Consistently outperformed European Central Bank’s Single Supervisory Mechanism’s (SSM) targets for reduction of non-performing exposures (NPE), playing mission-critical role in strategy to reduce bank’s NPE ratio from 48% to <10% by 2021.► Forged operational alliances and obtained new investors for underlying issuers, successfully restructuring €1B+ (~50 companies) in loans ahead of schedule with remaining €2B on track to be completed by 2020.► Championed asset search and recovery efforts by employing intelligence firms, recovering assets valued at €50M+ from defaulting issuers.

In this position, I launched the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) 1st restructuring team to identify and turn around specific troubled assets held in portfolio while overseeing 8 direct reports.My most notable accomplishments included:► Spearheaded 1st sector-wide restructuring in Greece, restructuring €530M in loans made to 3 largest companies in Greek aquaculture sector. Worked closely with 7 other syndicate partners, took operational control of companies (1st time Greek banks capitalized debt exposures), and laid foundation to sell bank’s equity stakes to other investors.► Collaborated with other systemic Greek banks during restructuring of numerous syndicated loans. ► Played mission-critical role in establishing independent Recovery Business Unit managing bank’s entire non-performing loan portfolio. Selected as point person of CIB to collaborate with Oliver Wyman during process.

As Manager of Large Corporates & Structured Finance, I drove the origination and execution of complex infrastructure-related project financings as well as strategic financial advisory mandates for the bank’s most important private and public sector clients. In this role, I oversaw a loan portfolio of up to €1B while leading a 5-person team.My best achievements were:► Worked closely with other Greek banks to raise €350M in project finance for construction and operation of 436 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plant for Mytilineos Holdings► Orchestrated sale of €200M+ in infrastructure loans with zero write-downs to global banks to generate liquidity for Piraeus at onset of Greek financial crisis in 2012.► Advised Government of Greece on country’s 1st waste management public-private partnerships (€49M).► Worked in restructuring the €8 billion Greek Motorway Program at onset of economic crisis, negotiating with Government of Greece to obtain €1.2B in incremental support for completion of project.
