Managing the Trust's arts team of paid staff and volunteers to run and promote the art charity’s annual awards programme, exhibitions, sales and events.I work on the project management of our awards, communications and exhibitions; print and publications; liaising with freelancers; and building relationships with artists and other arts professionals.

Working towards the charity’s aim of encouraging cultural exchange through the arts. Key projects included: • Co-ordinating 4 exhibition programmes each year in the main gallery, including managing freelancers, volunteers, suppliers, loans, transport and insurance.• Curating and managing a series of exhibitions by emerging artists throughout the public rooms and café gallery.• Promoting the programmes to press – our exhibition A Darkness Visible was featured on Newsnight, contributing to discussion on life in contemporary Afghanistan.• Liaising with partner organisations, curators and lenders. Our programme with the Iran Heritage Foundation provided an exciting opportunity for the public to discover work by female Iranian artists. Our work with a private collector allowed visitors a rare glimpse of a collection of antique Indian wall-hangings.

Part of a small team in a charity dedicated to lending original paintings to the NHS. I provided a range of administrative support, communicated with hospitals and the public about the loan scheme, worked on mailing lists and events. I also managed developments in the gallery space:• Planning and managing a craft and design fair to raise funds and publicise the charity’s work.• Co-ordinating improvements to the gallery, such as a new lighting system and cosmetic improvements to the exterior and interior.• Increasing the number of weeks the gallery was hired each year, and the income it brought the charity.

Supported the planning and delivery of a professional symposium and public discussion focusing on Japanese art collections in UK museums. Liaising with museum curators, booking catering supplies and temporary staff, and organising guests’ rail and plane travel.

Selected to take part in the JET Programme and placed in a Senior High School near Tokyo. I worked in a very busy and demanding atmosphere, together with Japanese colleagues.• Developing and teaching high level English classes to groups of 40 15-18 year-olds. Using MS Word and Adobe Photoshop, I created teaching materials, lesson plans, exams and study aids.• In the third year I helped train new participants in the programme• Representing the programme and school to parents and the wider community
