Oncology Nurse working in the Oncology Day Unit, administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies to oncology and haematology patients. Providing patients with education on treatments and management of side effects. Skilled in cannulation, CVAD access, catheterisation, administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy and intra vesicular treatments

Since starting this role in June my main responsibilities include;-Educating and supporting staff with the EMR (Meditech Expanse) system. -Supporting the implementation of Meditech as we went live with the system on the wards and in theatres. Applying new care plans and changes as we continue to improve the Meditech system. -Setting up and training new clinical staff on Meditech.-Creating quick reference guides to assist staff with the use of Meditech.

Currently working in the day oncology unit. Administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy and blood products. Cannulation, accessing CVAD’s. Assessing patients side effects post treatment. Reviewing bloods and assessing if it’s safe for patient to have treatment.

Looking after patients post operatively. Post operative dressings, drain management and removal. Pain management post operatively including PCA administration.

Working as a registered nurse on a medical and respiratory ward.
