From sketching designs at the age of 7 to teaching students how to sew at 19, I have always been actively involved with fashion. Before I was aware that there were more careers in fashion than just design, I knew I had to be doing something fashion-related to be happy! Thankfully, there are more avenues in fashion to explore than just design, as seven-year-old me (and present day me) didn’t exactly have a skillset to excel in design.Over time, through Styling and Merchandising classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology, I came to realize that I had potential in so many different areas of the fashion industry. Working with Vaila Shoes as an Intern, I had the opportunity to hone my skills in many different areas, which was incredibly valuable to me as a driven individual with a curious mind. I hope to bring my expertise in Adobe Illustrator and my proficiency in machine and hand sewing to any potential employers, along with my communicative and empathetic nature. After all, as the winner of the Best Dressed superlative in high school, my peers must be on to something, right?
