I was the first Director of Education in the new School of Biosciences (launched Sept 2021) at the University of Sheffield. I established the educational leadership framework and set up all teaching roles in the school. I oversaw the introduction of the new 'Biologies Teaching Partnership' curriculum making provision coherent across all degree programmes (9 undergraduate degree subjects and 11 postgraduate taught subjects). I oversaw the establishment of integrated systems of teaching provision, assessment and feedback, student support, student voice, employability and placements. I also sat on the school executive committee inputting into all areas of establishing the new school.

I designed the Biologies Teaching Partnership, based on a research embedded model and bringing together the learning and teaching from 3 very different Biological Science Departments (Animal & Plant Sciences, Biomedical Science and Molecular Biology & Biotechnology) at the University of Sheffield. This involved designing a unified curriculum comprising subject knowledge (14 subjects), skills (practical, project, communication, data handling & statistics, and employability) and application (field courses, literature reviews and research projects). The new curriculum was designed to give students greater choice of subject and more comprehensive skills, and to reduce workloads for staff. In it's first year of launch the new curriculum attracted 580 students, a +30% increase on the previous year.

I directed all strategic and operational aspects of learning and teaching in the Department of Animal and Plant Sciences. In addition I designed and implemented a new curriculum to fulfill the University led Programme Level Approach.
