Creating solutions and initiatives to help address and mitigate big challenges is my greatest passion and strength in work; and the prevention of harm, harassment and discrimination are some of the biggest and systemically wicked problems going around.I take great pride in the work I have achieved to date in the higher education sector in furthering intersectional equity, diversity and inclusion practice. Much of my career to date, and prior to that academic study, has focused on gender equality and the prevention of gender-based violence through embedding a socioecological model across the whole-of-institution. I am a leading professional staff practitioner in the prevention of sexual harm and gender-based violence within the Australian higher education sector.I thrive in leading diverse teams of people, and having the opportunity to help staff grow and flourish through mentoring and sponsorship. I love nothing more than surrounding myself with people who are different to me and who can bring new ways of thinking into our work, because this diversity of thinking is critical in solving complex social problems. I lead with empathy, and focus on building trust, openness and vulnerability with staff. This is essential for undertaking the challenging work that is the prevention of harm, harassment and discrimination.I’m always up for connecting with others working in progressing harm prevention and furthering equity, diversity, and inclusion - as one things for sure, we can’t solve these multifaceted, compounding social challenges alone.
