We manage for biodiversity with the objective to increase soil carbon storage all the while maintaining consistent food production. Currently we operate Free Range Layer hens that produce a high quality egg for the restaurant and retail trade and fatten approximately 150-300 head of cattle per year depending on the seasonal conditions. We have been working toward a highly productive integrated farming system which is profitable, and all the while sharing with others to provide for their local communities on a commercial scale. Our children have been an integral part to our success and are all successful in their chosen careers.I do enjoy working off-farm as I keep the skills needed for working with people. I learn about tolerance, offer my experience to the younger members of staff and learn new things. Plus I love to help people. I am also happy working on my own. I am a good time manager, and have done numerous short courses to improve my business skills. I am currently involved in a mentoring program to assist me in my business operations and keep me motivated.
