My job involves a mix of skills and knowledge related to the topics of circular economy, environmental management in businesses, and waste prevention & management. It's never a dull day and I get to work in French and Dutch interchangeably, with the odd use of English now and then.Current projects:• Facilitator for professional waste management: service for all producers of non-household waste in the Brussels Region, providing advice and a helpdesk, and offering free waste diagnostics to suggest concrete, practical solutions to improve their waste management, optimise sorting, and boost prevention.• Environmental management advisor for companies• Helpdesk of the Ecodynamic Enterprise Label of the Brussels Region, helping companies reduce their environmental impact and obtain the certification.Previously:• Support to the coordination of the regional resource and waste management plan, led by Brussels Environment: project management, online facilitation, reporting, stakeholder involvement, etc. • Member of the facilitator team helping the Brussels Region develop its strategy for the transition of the economy by co-creation with various stakeholders.

• Coordination of the Brussels Green Network project: planning, budget, reporting, website management, co-organisation of trainings, information sessions and networking events (on environmental legislation, sustainable finance, food waste prevention, waste management, circular economy, and zero waste).• Circular economy, waste management, and environmental management advice to the private sector. This consisted in identifying their needs and ambitions, informing them of current legislation, suggesting improvements whilst explaining the scientific reasoning behind certain aspects, putting them in contact with relevant businesses, advising potential funding solutions. For those interested in a full diagnostic, I would go in house and evaluate their company's environmental efforts (energy use and provider, building renovations, heating/cooling , management involvement, internal and external communications, waste management, mobility, ...).• Development of Beci's environmental management system, coordination of the Eco Team and of the renewal of Beci's "Ecodynamic Enterprise" Label.• Coordination of measure RD17 of the regional plan for circular economy, where partners carried out pilot tests for the collection, sorting, and preparation for reuse of carpet tiles.• Launch and coordination of Beci's Newsletter Green.• Representation of the Brussels private sector in circular economy and environmental working groups of the Federation of Enterprises of Belgium• Observer in the Board and General Assembly of Valipac and Fost Plus

• Technical expertise: support to the improvement of resource efficiency strategies of public authorities, including in particular drafting thematic guidelines on sustainable construction from a circular economy perspective, as well as contribution to studies on waste management in cities and bio-waste collection.• Communication activities: drafting and review of content for the association, but also communication manager for the FISSAC project - including presentations in events, website management, webinar organisation.• Project management tasks and involement in activities for European projects: FISSAC, on industrial symbiosis in the construction value chain, RE4 on the reuse and recycling of construction and demolition waste materials in prefabricated elements, and COLLECTORS, on good practices in waste collection systems for paper and packaging, WEEE, and construction and demolition waste.
