The Risk Management Association (RMA) is a 100 year old not-for-profit, member-driven professional association whose sole purpose is to advance the use of sound risk principles in the financial services industry. RMA helps banking institutions identify and manage the impacts of credit risk, operational risk, and market risk on their businesses and customers. RMA has approximately 3,000 institutional members that include banks of all sizes as well as nonbank financial institutions.

For over 10 years, I served as Director of Practice Development at WNDE, one of the largest Orange County based accounting firms, and helped grow the tax and audit practice from 80 to 170 professionals. At WNDE, I was responsible for leading the sales and business development efforts for the firm, working closely with the partners and senior managers to promote the firm’s brand in the business community, develop new client relationships and establish new services engagements. In this role, I was also responsible for developing strategic relationships and for the firm’s overall marketing campaign, including both traditional and digital marketing initiatives.

I brought my two decades of entrepreneurial and business development skills to Wright Ford Young & Co., a prominent Orange County based CPA firm. As the first Director of Business Development at this 50+ year old firm, I developed and implemented business development and marketing programs to targeted existing accounts, and privately held middle market businesses, throughout Southern California. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve this reputable firm as my entrée into the accounting profession.

Upon completing business school (MBA), I was hired at technology consulting company, Inteliant, a provider of IT consulting services for Fortune 1000 and enterprise level companies. Inteliant offered technology services ranging from website and application development, system integration, data center design and management, and software testing services, to IT project management and staffing.My responsibilities included business development, account service, and engagement management. During my tenure, I built and assisted in the management of business units contributing over $1,500,000 in gross profit and $5,000,000 in service revenues per year. I also developed profitable strategic alliance relationships and tracked performance milestones, budgets, and client deliverables.I was the first person responsible for business development across all practice areas for the West Coast and became the top new business generator at the company.• Developed infrastructure practice from $300,000 to over $3,000,000 in revenues within one year.• Built two separate accounts from zero to over $100,000 in consistent monthly revenue.• Achieved over 150% of annual quota objective and named “Employee of the Quarter.”Following “Y2K” and “9/11,” Inteliant was sold by its public parent company to private investors and folded shortly thereafter.

My early career was focused on Sales, Business Development and Management level positions in the technology and residential development industries, including:• Sales roles in the computer industry marketing department level office automation and data base management systems to designated key accounts. (Including an internship with IBM during undergraduate years.)• Sales roles in the communications industry marketing data communications and networking services to major accounts.• Business Development and Management roles in the residential development industry marketing consulting and outsourcing services to real estate developers and new home builders.
