Profile bio

About Andrew Fischer

I grew up with a fascination for achieving the seemingly unachievable, hence my attraction to business, airplanes, and sport. Each of these takes focus, hard work, and resiliency to be successful. I’m the Deputy Program Manager for New Horizons Aeronautics and American Systems at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center. My team of NHAero engineers is spread across a variety of flight research and airborne science projects as well as each of NASA Armstrong’s new X-Planes. It’s amazing to see the impact that my team brings to our various customers and be a part of leading innovation in the industry.Working for New Horizons and American Systems has opened up opportunities and taught me things that I now get to pass on to others as I learn and develop my entrepreneurial, management, and business skills. I’ve operated out of three continents and been a key member of many very successful teams. I continue to mentor engineers, provide STEMS seminars to students worldwide in both English and Spanish, and be a collaborative steward in the aviation industry.Entrepreneurial endeavors are one of my passions. I've started and helped others start a variety of businesses and raise funding for those businesses. There is something magical about the initial glimpse of success as all the hard work starts to trend to the upside. In aerospace, especially, I seek out the creativity and idea creation that gives pause to the monotony of the daily grind. I help to foster safe, inclusive, and collaborative working groups to help fuel other’s and my own passions. Growth is imminent. Setting goals, continual learning, and saying yes to opportunities continue to help me succeed. I love working with passionate people and teams that strive for more each day. I innovate and gravitate to other innovators because being average is boring.I love working with others who make me think harder and do more. If you want to team up, let's connect!
