My previous role was managing and developing the relationship we had with several key customers across our print and media client base. I was responsible for ensuring we met our contractual service levels and led any discussions relating to any commercial elements. A significant part of my role was identifying potential revenue opportunities as well as challenging and changing current operational practices whereby costs could be significantly reduced or eliminated from the whole supply chain.

The role was managing the day to day operation at a transport network site in Hounslow. I was responsible for over thirty colleagues across a day and night operation overseeing both the transport and warehouse operations. One of the key requirements of the role was to ensure our customers received their goods in the timeliest and most cost effective manner. On average the depot handled and successfully delivered the equivalent of over five hundred pallets each day.

The role was managing the day to day distribution of time sensitive magazines (e.g. Radio Times) from print collections through to wholesaler deliveries in London and along the South coast. The role required exceptional organisational skills, an ability to make rational decisions under pressure and meticulous attention to detail.

The role was implementing a major new contract. I demonstrated I can competently manage timelines and priorities against customers’ expectations. I showed I can work well both independently and also with a large number of colleagues with the tenacity to ensure the project was implemented successfully on time and within budget given the very demanding timelines imposed by the customer.

Based at head office the role was threefold; to support the senior Project Manager compiling risk logs and critical paths of high profile projects; to perform analytical work on strategically important projects driven by the Managing and Operation Directors; to project manage smaller start ups and cost saving initiatives. I demonstrated I was able to manage demanding workloads well and prioritise tasks accordingly.

Based at Marks & Spencer’s head office the role was twofold; to support the senior logistics team at M&S; to support the distribution centres’ across the M&S network with the day to day management of the operations. I showed excellent communication skills, both written and oral and was able to communicate to all levels with confidence and conviction. I am adept at assimilating information from various sources: databases, verbal communications and written reports and compiling them into a coherent view which can be communicated in its own right to provide a comprehensive view. I successfully dealt with all parties, one of which was a direct competitor, in an equal and impartial manner.

Based at a Marks & Spencer depot the role was managing a clothing returns area across two shifts with approximately twenty colleagues. I was responsible for the labour control, productivity and general management of these colleagues. I showed I was able to create a plan and then carry it out in a cost and time effective manner whilst considering other departments that would be impacted. Through empowering my team I contributed to building a self motivated and more productive team.
