I worked as a trainee for the World Tourism Organization Liaison Office at Geneva (UNWTO-GVLO). GVLO represents the World Tourism Organization in Geneva to the UN System, other International Organizations (IOs) and Diplomatic Missions, with the objective to provide policy advice to the Secretariat, contributing to UNWTO's ability to meet its mandate and priorities. The UNWTO Geneva Liaison Office work relates to advocacy; strategic partnerships and resource mobilization, project development and implementation as well as research; coordination with Permanent Missions. Furthermore, the new 2030 development agenda and its SDGs, as well as the forthcoming International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development are providing the opportunity to enhance the visibility of tourism and UNWTO work. My duty was to assist the UNWTO Liaison Office in all work activities.
