My duty as an external monitor is to visit examination centers in Liberia during the administering of the country's national exams for nine and 12 graders, and assess conditions surrounding the exams (both physical and technical). My responsibility also involves assessing the relation between students and examiners, conduct of school administrators especially those who are using their campuses for the exams, seize any materials that are considered foreign objects to the exams, and when necessary; invite security officers to arrest perpetrators of examinations fraud. After the exams, I prepare and submit comprehensive report to the Council and stakeholders on best practices, fraud cases, challenges, and recommendations on improving not just the examinations, but the entire education system of the country.
