About Patrick Ford

As a Professional-in-Residence at the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications, I share my insights and expertise in the public relations industry with the next generation of practitioners. I teach courses on crisis management, corporate communications, media relations, and other topics that are essential for building and protecting brands in today's complex and dynamic environment. I have over 38 years of PR experience, including 29 years at Burson-Marsteller, where I held various leadership roles such as worldwide vice chair for client service, chief client officer, US CEO, and Asia-Pacific chair. I have worked with clients across diverse sectors and markets, helping them navigate challenges and opportunities related to reputation, issues, and stakeholder engagement. I am passionate about mentoring and advancing the PR profession, and I serve on several boards that support research, education, and diversity in the field.
