I was conscripted in November 2009, took part in Recruit Camp 2010 and was selected for the corporals cadre. Upon completion of the cadre in November 2010 I was posted to Training Company and was part of the training team which trained new recruits enlisted into the regiment.Was than reassigned to Boat Troop in 2013 as a Lance Corporal which involved yearly boat maintenance and learning navigation and boating skills such as chart plotting, boat handling, international rules of the road, navigation lights for traveling at night, and the officer boarding course which is learning about your rights to board vessels and conduct searches. Also traveled on Overseas Exercise "Island Warrior" to Camp Lejuene in North Carolina and did small boats tactics training with the US Coast Guard.Upon being promoted to Full Corporal in November 2017, I moved on to more of a leadership role and started teaching the new Boat Troop soldiers the courses I had already taken, passing on the knowledge I had obtained from the regiment and through my career.

My work required me to be a dive boat captain, scuba instructor for various dive courses, and a snuba guide for my company which provided this service for cruise ships which came into port in the Royal Naval Dockyard.I also captained for rum cruises, private charters, and occasionally an assistant tour guide for kayak tours and bicycle tours.

Worked at a full service boat yard which included a wide range of jobs but not limited to: the basic service of diesel engines, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues, install/repairing running gear such as struts, props, cutlass bearings, rudder bearings, shafts; installation of new engines, generators, depth sounders, charter plotters/GPS; hull/structural repairs using fiberglass and materials such as wood and foam, etc. Was also required to sea trial, pick up/deliver boats, and trailer boats in and out of the water around the boat yard.

Worked as an intern in the production facility of The Hinckley Company building the Hinckley Talaria 34'. Acquired experience installing engine room insulation, seacocks, jet drives, drive shafts, bow thrusters and wired electrical components both DC and AC. Also rigged steering and hydraulics for jet drives, bow thrusters, and PTOs.

Yearly maintenance of a 36' Seahawk and captained for dive charters, led dives, and taught new dive students ranging from PADI Open Water divers to Divemasters.
