Worked one-on-one, twice a week, with 3rd grade student on targeted lesson plans and exercises designed to improve reading and math skills. The kids who participate in FLOC generally enter the program with reading and math skills that are below the national average. Over the course of a semester (one semester per child), I worked with established learning practices to help build a strong foundation in both reading and math. Equally important to teaching the particulars is interacting with the student, and helping that student develop good study habits, and hopefully engender a love of reading and math.
