At EPA, Region IV, I served as the Regional's Sediment Quality Expert where I promoted assessment and remedation of contaminated sediments in Region IV's water and waste management programs, as well as in eight states (Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida). In EPA Headquarters in Washington DC, I coordinated with many federal agencies and states to prepare the National Sediment Inventory of contaminated sediment sites and pollutant sources for the entire United States. I also served as the Tribal Coordinator for the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assistance and worked with a team of experts to prepare guidance on how to identify and evaluate pollutant impacts to Environmental Justice Communities (minority and/or low income).
