I worked for this event management company organising corporate events such as AGMs, conferences and parties, ranging from small departmental meetings for 10 people to company conferences for 2,500. Activities (Office Based)• Provided support to the Managing Director.• Assisting the Managing Director by owning responsibility for various small scale office based projects.• Bookkeeping and accounts, including quotations and invoicing.• Typing correspondence and proposal presentations.• Diary management, arranging travel, accommodation and meetings for both the Managing Director and myself.• Other general activities included, processing orders and managing the company website.Core activities (Event Management)• Provide speaker support for event presenters (including advising clients, collation of PowerPoint slides, design of PowerPoint templates and branding, and producing packs and slides)• Extensive liaison with external clients at all management levels, ranging from secretaries and team leaders to directors and CEO’s.• Management of an event from inception to completion, including initial creative input and liaison with suppliers and venues.• Site “recces”, involving measuring rooms, checking access and working with venue co-ordinators to ensure smooth running of the event.• Produce scaled drawings and technical specs. For suppliers, Stage/Set Designers or AV providers.• Prepare quotations and necessary supporting material, such as introductory presentations.• Onsite management at an event, ensuring that the client was always happy and looked after.
