What doesn't a principal do these days? Not complaining--in fact, on most days I think I have one of the best jobs in the world! No day is the same, the kids are energizing and deserving of my best effort, I have a GREAT staff--wouldn't swap them for another group from ANYWHERE--and find a reason to laugh at least 20 times a day!Wish we had more resources (who doesn't) and that this testing phase would actually improve teaching and learning, but the current intersection of money and politics means, unfortunately, there's a great bit of amateur hour going on. Many well-intentioned people, and some whom are not so well-intentioned, are ill-informed in the case of the former, and pursuing an anti-union, anti-public school agenda in the case of the latter, and are driving the discussion. Still, this is an awesome job! I LOVE the kids, and I am not going to abandon them to the mercy of either the pointy-headed intellectuals or the right-wing whackos, neither of whom would last a day in a classroom.
