Fran Wheeler lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband of 54 years. Together they own a consulting company, Statistical Process Controls, Inc. which includes SPC Press, a technical publishing division that specializes in Data Analysis and Quality. Fran serves as president of the corporation. In that role, she manages the business details, supervises all advertising, and facilitates public and on-site seminars. Before her business career, she served as an elementary teacher and then an elementary school counselor, for a total of 12 years. Together, Fran and Don also raised two children. Enjoying time with their children and grandchildren is a high priority.Over the years, Fran has written two Christian curriculums, one for women and one for children, both of which have been used in church programs, but have not been commercially published. She has also written devotional books for Advent and Lent. In her church, Church Street United Methodist Church, she serves as a Stephen Ministry Leader and often writes articles for church publications. Her favorite hobby is her three grandchildren; after that comes reading (especially mysteries and historical fiction), and many kinds of music. Writers who have influenced her spiritual life and writing include Philip Yancey, Adam Hamilton, Robert Benson, C.S. Lewis, Max Lucado, Catherine Marshall, J.R.R. Tolkein, J.K. Rowling, and Madeleine L’Engle, Sharyn McCrumb, Louise Penny, and Sharon Kay Penman.Fran holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Abilene Christian University and a Masters of Educational Psychology from the University of Tennessee.
