Safeguarding Coordinator
CurrentKey Responsibilities:Provide targeted safeguarding service that seeks to improve the social wellbeing of service users within their natural supports and local communities. Analyse/determine responses required to address immediate, interim, and long-term actions to reduce the risk of abuse.Provide support, advice and guidance to WALK local staff to support overall management/performance of Safeguarding PracticesMonitor and oversee safeguarding processes in each service location Report regularly and produce reports/analyses to WALK Safeguarding manager/Safeguarding oversight team on functioning and developments in safeguarding practicesSupport implementation of current and evolving legislation, policies and procedures, guidelines, and protocols within safeguarding practices.Deliver safeguarding supports in collaboration with other disciplines / agencies as required Provide professional leadership at meetings/committees etc. as required in relation to SafeguardingEvaluate safeguarding interventions and review work with safeguarding managers/oversight team Cultivate relationships/engagement fora with HSE Safeguarding teams. Undertake management co-ordination and delegate tasks and roles, make appropriate amendments to Safeguarding Protection Plans and mobilise resources and supports Promote involvement of service user in planning, decision-making and service development.Provide informal counselling, emotional and practical supports to service users and their families Promote independence, self-reliance, self-determination, and advocacy with service users and families. Assess health and social wellbeing and plan with the service users/teams to arrange appropriate social services for those who need them.Cooperate with legislative/regulatory requirements ensuring FOI/GDPR compliance and manage data confidentialityAct as resource in delivering learning/development opportunities and training on safeguarding matters
