– Counseling and therapeutic sessions for a caseload of approximately 12 to 17 SED students: modalities used are CBT, Solution Focused, ACT, and motivational interviewing.– Crisis intervention and behavioral management planning.– Diagnostics of new admits and yearly reviews of appropriate fit for said diagnosis.– Collaboration between school administration, IEP services, and local resources to ensure wrap-around services for the students in service.

– Daily functions included but were not limited to: suicide watch, mental health holds, crisis intervention, and stateside and county jail segregation mental health rounds.– Ran the following programs: thinking for a change, anger management, and parenting. Developed a family systems course and a workshop for poetry targeting trauma.– Counseling sessions of a caseload of 35 clients, both stateside and county jail offenders. Advocacy for patients and parents within the medical field and other institutions that families were engaged in. Including but not limited to working with DSCC, DCFS, Ounce of Prevention Fund, Section 8 housing, insurance questions and coverage, and SSI benefits.– Informal counseling and therapy was offered to all parents struggling with, but not limited to depression, anxiety, end of life, transitions, etc.– Development of support groups for parents coping with chronic illness.– Providing case management based on the individual family means that was determined with a psychosocial questionnaire, including a PHQ-9 questionnaire to postpartum mothers.

– Advocacy on behalf of the refugee population we serviced.– Ensuring clients received their entitled benefits.– Providing academic support included but was not limited to: aid with school registration, student and parental rights within the US education system, tutoring opportunities for student advancement, after-school and/or summer programs to aid in assimilation, liaison services between the school and families—report cards, student progress, concerning classroom behavior, etc.

– Worked under Donna Fisher-Thompson researching infant perception and development:– Solicitation of new mothers and coordination of appointments.– Assisted with testing infants including operation of technological equipment.– Tracking and coding of data, while setting new parameters for study.– Maintaining and analyzing data for publishing.– Presented at the Cognitive Development Society in Memphis in 2013 (named contributor).– Author and presenter at ESCS in Poughkeepsie in 2014.
