In addition to spearheading OwnIt Global Strategies as a Consultant , I have enthusiastically taken on the new role of Chief Operating & Strategic Officer at BHRAGS Home Care Corp who has served over 35 years in Home Care and has recently embarked in serving the homeless population in New York City.

As Senior Vice President, key performance goals are to excel at assisting families to minimize their homelessness and to achieve stable, permanent housing; to manage safe and clean operation of shelters and provision of services from a holistic perspective while staying within budget; to achieve full compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements; to provide excellent social services grounded in evidence-based practices; and to maintain excellent working relationships with regulators, government and other funding sources. • Oversee 939 units of family transitional housing at 10 shelters (6 DHS, 2 DSS, 1HPD and 1 HRA) in the New York Metropolitan area. • Manage HELP Day Care Corporation which oversees 165 slots for ACS funded and licensed early learn program in 3 of the 10 family transitional housing for both shelter and community children. • Supervise 10 executive directors of the shelters and early learn programs.• Provide agency-wide leadership and planning on issues related to family homelessness.

• Managed, the day-to-day operations of New York City’s 9000+ bed shelter system for homeless single adults in 70 shelters, 5 of which are directly operated. • Oversaw Commissioner Initiatives such as 100 in 100, the Five Year Plan, 100 Veterans in 100 Days, Partners in Permanency, Advantage Programs and Client Responsibility (ILP) throughout the shelters, while incorporating PA Compliance to ensure that clients become more self-sufficient.• Participated with the Commissioner, executive and senior staff in strategic planning for the Agency and in implementing and monitoring the achievement of missions, goals and objectives. • Served as the chief advisor to the Deputy Commissioner of Adult Services on all program and policy issues regarding shelter operations and made recommendations regarding the need for corrective actions and/or the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures.• Initiated intra-agency communication and coordinated internal agency action with executive and senior management in all other agency divisions and bureaus to achieve the agency’s goals as outlined in the Strategic Plan. • Managed a budget of $150+ million (including contracts with non-profit providers) and a staff comprised of 500+ City employees.• Negotiated contracts with non-profit service providers offering mental health, substance abuse, employment training, and other rehabilitative programs in 39 shelters. • Administered the performance incentive program (PIP) that rewards providers for the placement of clients into permanent housing.• Provided technical assistance to shelter operators and promoted the sharing of best practices.• Ensured compliance with NY City and NY State rules and regulations promulgated by the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; NYC Department of Buildings and NYC Fire Department.

• Oversaw the performance of the portfolio of housing options available to homeless single adults and adult families. • Ensured division housing resources are used most effectively to achieve the Mayor’s goal of reducing homelessness. • Supervised referral and placement process for clients living on the street, in shelters, and in other DHS programs. • Managed the Division’s use of supportive housing, rental assistance programs and other housing options to ensure that targeted clients are given priority access.• Directed all contract management activities for more than 10,000 supportive housing units in the Division’s portfolio.• Implemented and managed the Division’s responsibilities under New York/New York III, including the matching of clients to appropriate housing options.• Worked in partnership with other agencies, including the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Office of Mental Health, Human Resource Administration, the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, and the Department of Correctional Services, implementing regular communication and strategies to meet the needs of many individuals affected by multiple service systems. • Represented DHS at meetings and on task forces with internal and external agencies, homeless advocacy groups and trade organizations.• Collaborated with Shelter Operations and Street to develop more structured approach to how clients move through the adult system.• Led several initiatives to assist in placing clients into permanent housing (centralization process in housing, 100/100, Advantage, and VASH).

• Developed and implemented new programs (Clinic, Case-management, Housing, and Assertive Community Treatment) within the NYC area.• Oversaw Adult Home Case Management in several adult home settings throughout the NYC area.• Maintained compliance with OMH, DOHMH, AOT, OPRE, SPOA and other governing and/or funding bodies. • Managed seven programs in metropolitan area while overseeing approximately 3,000 clients.• Provided supervision and clinical support, crisis intervention, educational training and evaluated all professional and clerical staff in the NYC area.• Ensured that counseling services were being provided to all mental health clients receiving services in the programs. • Advocated for the clients in the community, when needed.• Worked as a liaison between programs, facility operations, providers and outside agencies.• Facilitated ongoing communication between providers. • Collaborated with various referral agencies, i.e., hospitals, courts and prisons.• Supervised all programs in NYC and represented the agency, in all areas of Mental Health.• Served as president on the Board for the Case Management Coalition in Albany, NY, representing case management in the state of New York.
