Provide the leadership for the HCC Honors program in alignment with the senior administration's strategic plans and initiatives. Manage a diverse team of four honors faculty and oversee the performance two direct reports. Prepare campus wide memos and updates. Create administrative processes and utilized digital tools to increase work efficiency and communication. Monitor and manage budgets for three academic programs. Manage relationships with external constituencies such as potential donors, prospective students, and community organizations. Collaborate with the Public Relations Marketing department to identify and implement effective branding and marketing strategies, yielding increased applications, particularly for underrepresented groups. Orchestrated the merger of two similarly designed honors programs into one, resulting in clearer program branding, increased enrollment, and overall overall cost savings. Chaired a committee selected to redesign seminar courses to prepare students for interdisciplinary research. Organized and facilitated department retreats, inductions, stole ceremonies, student conferences. Executed the transition of a fully face-to-face program to a high caliber online offering from 2020-2021 due to COVID-19. Teach a capstone seminar and/or a non-majors biology course each semester

Developed and taught introductory biology courses for majors and non-majors students that align with articulation agreements with transfer institutions. Hired, trained, and managed part-time faculty. Mentored students, providing guidance on transfer, degrees, and career. Coordinated and scheduled over a hundred biology courses for the academic year at the college’s main campus and satellite campus. Designed and delivered professional development workshops on innovative teaching practices and pedagogies in Life Science. Documented, mediated, and resolved student grievances. Chaired multiple cross-functional teams. Collaborated with faculty in the region to develop instructional materials to implement a grant to increase quantitative learning in undergraduate biology. Initiated the program evaluation of the college’s Undergraduate Research in Science (URSC) program and Life Science program.

Performed an internal evaluation of Computation and Mathematics for Biological Networks (COMBINE), a National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT) funded program for PhD students in Computer Science, Physics, Life Science, Public Policy and Mathematics. Completed an analysis of teacher networks for school systems in Pennsylvania through an exploratory grant funded by George Mason University. Conducted and transcribed individual interviews and focus groups. Built a teacher social network using R. Built survey instruments on Qualtrics. Validated survey instrument using exploratory factor analysis. Visualized and analyzed survey data. Produced an interim reports for the program’s advisory board.

Served as the board member for a community-based organization that promoted STEM related activities to increase awareness and interest in the field in Howard County and surrounding areas. Organized and directed successful STEM and Math festivals throughout the state of Maryland; collectively, these festivals garnered over a thousand participants from across the DMV region. Built and maintained the HoCo STEM Festival website from 2014-2017. Created marketing materials (flyers, social media, podcast) to promote activities and events.
