Commercial Fishing Deckhand
I work seasonally on a 32 foot commercial salmon-harvesting vessel in Bristol Bay Alaska, home to the world's largest wild sockeye salmon run. Aboard the Eva and far from many urban conveniences I use ingenuity to solve problems while working outdoors for long and unpredictable hours. I am familiar with hydraulic and electrical systems on the boat as well as maritime safety precautions and procedures.
Intern
I am networking to promote Maya Nut sales online and in stores, translating documents, learning web design, packaging and shipping Maya Nut, and preparing for and working a booth at the farmer's market.

My tangible project was creating recycling receptacles and collaborating with a local university to recycle plastics and cardboard. Daily work included weighing recyclables brought in by participating community members and coordinating the home collection route. All of my duties were self-motivated and carried out in Spanish.
