In two years (2017-2019), our team increased the fundraised budget by 50% and served twice as many clients. I designed and implemented marketing strategies for the organization, our events, and campaigns to achieve the majority of the annual fundraising during my interim. I trained the incoming Executive Director and other new staff while keeping client services steady and comprehensive. I managed contractors as well as directly delivered services for 100 clients. Grantwriting and grant distribution, collaboration with the board of directors, and accounting were also integral responsibilities of this role. Show less

In this role, I participated in Network for Good’s Jumpstart program focused on increasing nonprofit fundraising capacity and was part of implementing an organizational strategic plan.

I work seasonally on a 32 foot commercial salmon-harvesting vessel in Bristol Bay Alaska, home to the world's largest wild sockeye salmon run. Aboard the Eva and far from many urban conveniences I use ingenuity to solve problems while working outdoors for long and unpredictable hours. I am familiar with hydraulic and electrical systems on the boat as well as maritime safety precautions and procedures.

I am networking to promote Maya Nut sales online and in stores, translating documents, learning web design, packaging and shipping Maya Nut, and preparing for and working a booth at the farmer's market.

The internship was with a community-based recycling center in the marginalized neighborhood of Cienfuegos, which borders the city's landfill. My work was composed of 3 central roles: research, a tangible project and daily tasks. My research was on recycling perceptions and practices of individuals in the barrio where the recycling center was located.
