Francesca is a reporter and adjunct journalism professor. She’s worked with national investigative news teams and locally-driven outlets to produce in-depth stories for television, online and podcasting. She loves learning deeply about a topic and connecting with communities. She currently reports with The Narwhal, an online magazine focused on the natural world. As the first-ever recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s BC Journalism Fellowship, she spent months reporting on climate disasters in British Columbia. Her reporting on natural disasters has looked at racism in emergency management, economic impacts of sea level rise and community-driven solutions. She is also an adjunct professor of journalism and has taught trauma-informed interviewing techniques for reporting on climate disasters.
