Assist physicians in emergency medicine and pediatric orthopaedic medicine.

Assisted Dr. Thomas Smith, PhD. on the Bird Genoscape Project, which aims to map the migratory routs of 100 species of migratory songbirds by using the power of genomics, at the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability at UCLA. Performed various forms of DNA extraction from feather and blood samples (ranging in PCR to Quibit or Qiagen), and testing DNA viability.

Organized various club blood drives, trained several students in order to carry out the mission of the Center.

Conducted research on renal cell carcinoma, prostate cancer, and other urological cancers under the guidance of Dr. Zhang Shudong, M.D. at the Peking University Third Hospital in Beijing. Performed antibody and antigen combinations in order to detect different variations of prostate cancer.

Represented KIND at several UCLA events. Passed out over 20,000 KIND granola bars.

Worked as the study coordinator under Dr. Aparna Sridhar, M.D. and distributed different birth control comic books titled “Birth Control Tales” to gauge reader interest and knowledge on the subject of birth control. The comic books were ultimately published and spread through an online database at http://www.birthcontroltales.com.

Assisted nurses, doctors, and patients in specific wings of the hospital, including direct patient care in transplant wings of the hospital.
