I'm the kind of person who strongly believes that you can make a positive experience through any tough circumstance. I believe how you grow though each tough circumstance defines who you are and with that being said you can always learn something new about yourself. The toughest circumstance I have ever went through was the death of my brother but it also gave light to my passion. When I arrived at the hospital seeing such a little boy covered with cords, breathing tubes, poked with many needles and forced medication I came to the conclusion that I never wanted to see a child look and feel so hopeless ever again. As I matured through life my passion for children has grew I know am proud to announce that I found an interest in child counseling. I can now help as many children as I can from going to the hospital from injuries of others or injuries to them self. My passion to establish a professional relationship with many different cultures, social, emotional and intellectual background of clients:also my integrity, honesty and empathy makes me the best candidate for this position. I am currently interning at Family Youth Interventions. The goal at the facility is to help our clients become self sufficient. I observe and mentor clients between the ages of 16 and 22 who are living within our facility 24 hours. We help our clients obtain a GED if needed, find a job, help them save up money for an apartment and help them with daily life skills.

For this course I was granted a certification in early childhood education but also experience and personal and professional growth with working with children ages three to five. My work was based on hand on experience making lesson plans and interacting with children through songs, games and learning activities in order to make them ready for kindergarten. I also participated in clean up, decorating the room for special events and snack time.
