I am a Post Doc in the Neurobiology of miRNAs lab at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia since February 2020. My research activity focuses on the development of a differentiation therapy for glioblastoma multiforme through synergic action of miRNAs delivered via lipid polymeric nanoparticles. From 2016 to 2019 I worked as post doc in the laboratory of Nanotechnology for Precision Medicine at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia developing polymeric micro constructs for local therapy of glioblastoma multiforme. I achieved the PhD Degree in Biomedical Sciences at the Laboratory of Neurobiology and Gene Therapy of KU Leven in Belgium in April 2016. During the PhD I developed a cell-based assay for high content screening and validation of compounds against Parkinson’s disease. Furthermore, I worked on the characterization of the neuroinflammatory response in cellular and in vivo models of Parkinson’s disease. I completed a Master degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Pisa in December 2008. Before graduation, I worked on a project aimed at the generation of a mouse model of West Syndrome, a severe form of infantile epilepsy. In 2009, between my PhD and Master, I worked as Research Fellow at the laboratory of Neurobiology at CNR in Pisa on the characterization of murine models for autism spectrum disorders. Over the past years, I have acquired an extensive experience in neurobiology, molecular and cellular biology, as well as histological and biochemical analysis. I am capable to plan, perform and analyze experiments independently and I am highly motivated to learn new skills.
