Enthusiastic, dedicated and driven school leader and History Teacher. I have extensive experience in whole school leadership as well teaching and exam specialist. I have had significant impact in a range of schools. I have been an examiner for both AQA and Edexcel, I have been on the PiXL History Associate Committee and have presented at the annual PiXL History Conference. I have created PiXL resources and helped develop the PiXL App and have completed an MA in Education and have done the MLDP and the OTP and am currently studying the NPQSL. In my current position, I am leading in a number of areas. I am in charge of feedback across the school and have led numerous whole staff CPD sessions and run the implementation of moving to a whole class feedback and live marking approach. As Head of Literacy I have implemented a weekly literacy morning, am coordinating closing the reading gap and embedding disciplinary literacy across the school. As Y10 RSL I have introduced and coordinated PPEs and run weekly RAP meetings to intervene and improve outcomes, largely with a focus on HPA and SEND students. I am also a coach and undertake weekly learning walks and termly Deep Dives. I also teach all year groups including GCSE History and A Level Politics. At St Paul’s I redesigned the History curriculum, increasing challenge and outcomes. As HOD here I underwent a Deep Dive and received positive feedback for the changes/improvements made. At DESC i was the in Teaching and Learning team which involved Coordinating and implementing the whole school Distance and Remote Learning Provision, and the whole school Observation and Feedback approach. I also co-created an online PD platform which included creating online courses from scratch and leading and presenting whole school PD sessions.As HOF at Marriotts, I moved the Humanities Faculty from ‘Unsatisfactory’ to ‘Good with Outstanding’ and led the History Department to Outstanding with the best A*-A results in the school with results moving from 12% to 69% within two years. I was responsible for the shaping of the curriculum and the academic progress of all students across History, Geography, Philosophy and Sociology with writing strategies, joint planning systems and sharp data driven strategic intervention.My previous roles as Head of History also saw impact through increased outcomes, most notably in GCSE History going from 48% to 88% A*-C in a year.
