Pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Science, Immunology, I work under the guidance of Professor Gianluca Matteoli and Professor Bram Verstockt. My research focuses on macrophages and the immune system, aiming to identify new therapeutic targets for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.I've gained extensive experience with in vivo models, murine and human cell cultures, flow cytometry, cell sorting, molecular techniques, and imaging.

During my Erasmus Traineeship, I honed my skills with primary and immortalized cell lines, gained initial experience in in vivo models, and enhanced my expertise in molecular techniques, and histological staining methods.

As a visiting PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, I worked under the supervision of my co-promotor, Dr. Clare Pridans, enriching my research in macrophages and immune pathways. During this period, I also sharpened my scientific writing skills, contributing to a review that is currently undergoing the publication process.

Under Dr. Avanzini's guidance, I gained expertise in mesenchymal cell analysis within the tumor microenvironment, specializing in staining techniques and human cell culture

During my Bachelor's traineeship, I mastered traditional morphological and morphometric analysis techniques under the supervision of Dr. Consuelo Rodriguez, applying them to study dental and skeletal remains. This developed my ability to determine age, sex, and identify pathologies, deepening insights into historical health trends.
