As a Durability Engineer, I was responsible for carrying out test requests efficiently (both transient and non, spanning both V6 and single cylinder engines), collecting high quality data to help assess hardware reliability. I applied a methodical approach to data review and interpretation on a daily basis, covering the first stage of problem solving and issue diagnostics, providing recommendations next actions as required. I implemented changes and drive continuous improvement of selected tools, to ensure data review is both streamlined and unambiguous, to support the engineer in the decision making process. Since 2020 I have been supporting Track operations from the factory in the Track Support Office (TSO), where I regularly handle a large quantity of live data and monitor the health of several power units and any deviations from their expected behaviour. I distribute post session summaries highlighting key damage takeaways, targeting a fast turnaround to enable the teams to plan for the session ahead. I am mindful of IP constraints when sharing material across multiple channels to different teams. Show less

I looked after the published test run plan template, monitoring any changes and potential test impacts. In parallel to running standard break in pass-off tests, I was able to identify key items for successful test delivery based on customers’ requirements and delivered bespoke test solutions without compromising on due diligence and quality of results. I reviewed any result non-conformities against existing data sets. In case of deviations, I queried any equivalent measurements within the PU and in the test cell to verify potential faulty hardware, recommending swaps if posing a health risk to the PU or potentially compromising its performance assessment. When faults were identified, I promptly alerted the relevant stakeholders and provided a specialist insight by supporting the investigation with data comparisons. I helped identify any previous occurrences and confirmed which course of action was taken in similar circumstances. I logged each issue and its impact on the testing schedule, to drive improvement and ensure consistency and hardware quality were achieved in all tests. For each PU, I assessed test results against defined pass criteria and documented any deviations from its proven operating envelope. I compiled pass-off reports and required calibrations, to provide the Trackside PU Engineers with a set of resources for the upcoming race events.I regularly reviewed master calibration changes when introducing a new power unit phase. I compared the proposed and proven set ups and reviewed any differences to assess their relevance for our application. I kept track of active calibrations for each PU phase and updated the team’s internal library to reflect any changes. Show less

I kept the relevant tools and reference material up to date, including Work Instructions to detail the review process and troubleshooting requirements. I chaired weekly continuous improvement meetings to track both short and long term developments of the fuel system testing rig, driving actions across multiple departments including Test, Performance and Design to ensure new items were addressed with suitable margin and contingency plans put in place. I issued meeting minutes to raise visibility of actions and clearly define their timeline. I also coordinated with Program Management and Build to ensure relevant hardware was available to support development activities when required. To minimise downtime in a busy Q1, with testing rigs working 24/7, I implemented automatic pass off checks to provide preliminary approval when engineering cover was not available, thus preventing the build from halting in the middle of a shift. I addressed people across different departments, from technical and non-technical backgrounds, tailoring my message as required. Product Engineering (Mercedes AMG Project One Hypercar)May 2019 - August 2019I took ownership of a larger scale project, redesigning a large machined component. I reduced manufacturing complexity and cost in view of a large volume production run, while minimising risks of non-conformance in the finished product.Product Engineering (Formula 1)September 2019 - October 2019I delivered a quick turnaround solution for a testing prototype by designing a machined from solid equivalent of the intended composite design. Keeping the different manufacturing requirements inmind, I identified key features to be remodelled and assessed design feasibility byreviewing it with the Development workshop, integrating their feedback at every stage. In parallel, I supported students and graduates with little to no experience of the company’s CAD software and internal processes. I helped them navigate and troubleshoot new tools, adopting a “show and tell” approach by demonstrating different modelling options to get them started.Product Confirmation (Formula 1)October 2019 - November 2019I reviewed subsystems pass off data (fuel system, MGUs), to identify hardware conforming with the relevant health and performance requirements. I focused on the existing fuel system pass off procedure to identify potential areas for improvement and items to be rectified.I developed a tracker for all fuel system pass off results using Excel VBA, to provide a quality benchmark and a quick reference tool for comparing large datasets and identify trends. Corner weight readings were used to quantify aerodynamic performance and gains, while flow vis paint was used to help better understand how the flow behaved on the diffuser surface. Show less
