Francesco Virga over the years has produced numerous creative documentaries for cinemas and TV. He has been working with some of the most interesting Italian directors, whose works have been awarded in the main international film festivals, and distributed all over the world. He produced most of the film by director Alina Marazzi - i.e. FOR ONE HOUR MORE WITH YOU, WE WANT ROSES TOO, ALL ABOUT YOU, etc. In 2016, he produced LIBERA NOS by Federica Di Giacomo, awarded the Venice Lion for Best Film in the Orizzonti category at the 73rd Venice Film Festival, later selected at the EFA/European Oscars as Best Documentary 2017, nominated for a David di Donatello and awarded Documentary of the year at Doc/it Professional Award 2017. His filmography includes also different fiction and experimental films, among which BRIDGES OF SARAJEVO was selected for the official selection at Cannes Film Festival 2014, Opening Screen at Sarajevo FF 2014 and awarded in many international festivals. He has been producer and owner of MIR Cinematografica, member of EPC/European Producers Club, CNA /Cinema & Audiovisivo, and EFA/European Film Academy. Since June 2021, he has been president of DOC/IT.
