Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to work in several different part-time positions that helped me develop superb problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. My first job, working front desk at one of my local gyms, showed me firsthand what it was like to work under poor management. My shifts were unorganized and my position's requirements were never made clear to me. After that experience, I wanted my next job to be better. I was given a shot to work for someone who would prove to teach me more than I ever expected. For a whole summer, I helped complete odd jobs at an auto body shop, which consisted of mainly cleaning, making part runs, delivering cars, and maintaining customer satisfaction. I was often told to complete a task but not given much guidance on how to complete it. This forced me to think quicker on my feet. At the start, I made a lot of mistakes but each mistake taught me something different that I could use going forward. I eventually got quite good at improvising in and out of the shop, which has since translated into other jobs and my studies. I look forward to applying these skills to the tech field.
