Founder and Chief Executive Officer Plan and develop strategies to ensure implementation of goals for institutional growth as committed to in the corporate vision; develop and effectively manage the different programs that Survivors Pathway Organization provides to survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, human trafficking and other violent crimes. Programs include: individual mental health counseling, psychological evaluations, group counseling, psycho-educational groups, advocacy, art therapy and psychiatric evaluation and medication. Responsible for creating and implementing policies and procedures geared toward improving the quality of services rendered to residents of Miami-Dade County; responsible for achieving and exceeding compliance with organizational polices as well as strengthening the qualities of the programs and services provided to clients; responsible for identifying resources in the community in order to expand services rendered by the center; network in order to create partnerships with community agencies as well as national and international organizations. Train and develop staff. Create and implement statistical instruments to effectuate policy changes through the analysis of information. Prepare budget proposal and grant application.Responsible for development and supervision of cultural and gender sensitive counseling programs to survivors of intimate partner violence, domestic violence and sexual abuse with successful outcomes. Advance the promotion of cultural and gender sensitive oriented services to members of the LGBTQI community as well as for immigrant women and men that speak only Spanish and who are in the process of cultural adjustment.

History of the Hispanic Affairs Advisory BoardThe Miami-Dade County Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board (HAAB) was established by Ordinance No.92.41PDF in May 1992, at the request of Commissioner Alex Penelas.The membership of the HAAB reflects the diverse culture and ethnic backgrounds represented in Miami-Dade County so that the concerns of the Hispanic community are addressed by its members.The HAAB’s responsibilities include: promoting positive images of Hispanics and their many contributions to society, serve as a medium for responsible persons to utilize and consult in an attempt to understanding and solving the many complex issues affecting the Hispanic community in Miami-Dade County.MissionAs established by the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners to improve the quality of life of Hispanic citizens – to identify and monitor the needs and/or interests of Hispanic citizens, develop programs addressing such issues, encourage involvement of Hispanics in matters of community concerns, support the development of Hispanics in leadership roles, and recommend to the Board of County Commissioners legislation supporting Hispanic issues.In support of its mission, the Board’s primary activities include hosting educational television and radio programs on issues of concern to the Hispanic community; information and referral services; networking fairs; public forums; and the development and implementation of special projects and signature events celebrating Hispanic Heritage month.Among them, the Hispanic Art Expressions Exhibit showcasing the richness of the Hispanic culture through painting and sculpture; and the Hispanic Role Model and Future Leader of the Year Award Luncheon established to recognize Hispanics who have contributed to the enhancement and development of business, culture, education, press and/or the arts in our community. Both events are hosted in October.

The Partnership is the official county planning board for HIV/AIDS. It obtains input on community needs, sets priorities and allocates funds for Ryan White Part A/MAI, plans for services and housing and makes recommendations for Ryan White Part B, General Revenue and Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS. In addition, it serves as an advisory board to the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners. Appointed by Miami Dade County Mayor as a board member to provide professional expertise in gender violence and LGBTQ issues and its relationship with the HIV epidemic. Responsible for supporting the planning , needs assessment, and priority settings processes of the partnership. Establishing service priorities for allocation of Ryan White Part A funds within the County as provided by the Ryan White program of 1990, Public Law 101-381

Serve on this work group in order to assist the program in addressing HIV/AIDS policies, programmatic issues, and concerns associated with the Latinx communities in Florida .

The purpose of the Florida Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Work group is to provide input to the HIV Prevention Program on HIV prevention, linkage-to-care, and other issues relating to gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men in the state of Florida.

The Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council of Greater Miami (DVSAC) is the result of a community-based effort that began in 2001 in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Today the DVSAC includes representatives from domestic violence and sexual assault service providers, government agencies, the criminal and civil justice system, the court and survivors.

The PDAB is a committee to monitor activities conducted under the HRSA 14-077 awarded to Carlos Albizu University. the activities will be focused on the workforce development of the master in psychology students interested in working with underserved youth and their families.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FATALITY REVIEW TEAMMiami-Dade County’s Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team has become the repository in our community for the uniform and accurate identification and collection of domestic violence-related death information. In addition, we are State Certified as the local entity to conduct child death reviews. This undertaking is a means of recognizing that family violence, including child maltreatment, must be viewed holistically. In April 2002, the Fatality Review Team was honored as the recipient of the 2002 Governor’s Peace at Home Award for its outstanding accomplishments and contributions in the area of research.

FLAAG Mission: The mission of FLAAG is to develop linkages between minority community leaders, minority community-based organizations (CBOs), and the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of HIV/AIDS by providing advocacy, resources, and strategies to increase the quality of HIV/AIDS services to Latino communities.

Participated in research project interviewing, testing and delivering results to subjects with high risk of contracting STDs for the School of Public Health - REACH 2010 Project. Collected data, performed STD assessments and promoted safe sex practices to low income residents of Dade and Broward Counties.

Oversaw, developed and effectively managed the different programs that Jean Piaget Foundation provided to individuals experiencing mental health disorders and children with learning difficulties. Developed and managed psychological and rehabilitation programs that ensured the reduction of symptoms associated with depressive and anxiety disorders and the improvements of emotional and behavioral functionality. Planned and developed strategies to ensure that goals for institutional growth, as set forth by the board were met and exceeded. Ensured the applications of law and regulations that required the nature of this institution.
