I am a UI/UX designer and member of the open source software community who believes good software cannot truly be appreciated unless it looks the part. My time studying computer engineering helped me to realize that while we all recognize the importance of well-written and well-designed programs, software sees the most success when it benefits from a professional focused on making it intuitive and attractive enough that people want to use it!While I worked as a registered nurse for many years for practical reasons, my first passion was architecture, since this field bridged beautiful design with practicality. As technology continued to improve and change nursing, I saw the importance of good design in this new technology, and I had a chance to see how the quality of the design affected the lives of nurses and patients alike. My goal now is to help products be designed well enough that users don't have to think when they use them, and potential users gravitate towards specific products because their looks make them stand out from the crowd.In my spare time, I lend my talents to the open source community, especially in the realm of quantum computing and quantum communication. Aside from being an extremely welcoming community, its combined youth and complexity give me a chance to maximize my impact while challenging myself to grow as a professional.🎨
