The Spastic Paraplegia Foundation is a non-profit patient advocacy foundation founded in 2002 dedicated to funding research to find a cure for two closely related upper motor neurological disorders, Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia and Primary Lateral Sclerosis. Since being founded we have raised and sponsored almost 5 million dollars in research on these two rare diseases and last year alone we sponsored over $800,000 dollars in research. Our customer list grew from 70,000 12 month buyers to 165,000 12 month buyers.Our profit margin grew from 10% to 18.5%Our gross sales grew to very close to $20 Million.We strongly diversified our product offering into many different kinds of gift foods, pears, smoked meats, pastries, and a strong line of 12 month buyers to decrease the strong seasonality of the business.Our source for citrus fruit was diversified from one region, Texas Rio Grande Valley to two regions, Indian River of Florida, to decrease our risk of adverse weather.
