Francis King (Frank) is an experienced healthcare executive, having worked in acute care systems, post acute, and senior living organizations. He is a nursing home administrator (NHA), Personal Care Home Administrator, and teaches at the university level. Frank has extensive experience in senior living operations, gained through employment in small, medium and very large integrated healthcare organizations. This experience includes opening new campuses, strategic planning, budget development and control (capital and expense), and all aspects of facility management including construction. He has been the administrator of skilled nursing facilities and personal care homes.Somewhat unique for an executive is Frank's firsthand performance of a number of positions that are found in facility services. He has worked hands-on in maintenance management, food service, housekeeping, and laundry. Other experience includes material management, purchasing, information technology, corporate compliance and safety. Education is important to Frank. He grew up in an area where higher education attainment was not the norm. Initially trained as a carpenter, Frank began his college education at Community College of Allegheny County, then continued on to his bachelor's degree at Robert Morris University. Several years later he graduated with Highest Distinction from the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University with a Master of Public Management degree. In an effort to continue the connection to education, Frank had been an adjunct instructor at CCAC for about 16 years teaching business management and NHA courses. He taught Nursing Home Administration at the Greater Allegheny Campus, and has developed and presented continuing education programs for accountants and attorneys through the University. He is currently an Assistant Teaching Professor for Health Policy & Administration in the College of Health and Human Development at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park.
