Statistics and classification of preliminary information.- Short historical review of the collection since under the responsibility of the Museum of Antofagasta and its beginnings in other institutions.- Evaluation of the collection; cadastre of the exact number of objects considering determining aspects for handling the textiles and their current condition.- Detailed documentation of each textile and associated conservation processes carried out (before, during and after treatment). Visual registry of the objects and interventive conservation treatments.- Storeroom survey to determine current physical and environmental characteristics. Setup of an environmental monitoring and pest control system.- Surface cleaning of the objects as necessary and considering their fragile state, as well as the evidential relevance of certain types of dirt in terms of future analysis.- Packing and storage of the collection according the specific needs of each textile, the characteristics of the storeroom and the space available.- Processing and analysis of the information obtained during the interventive conservation process.- Complementary registry of the objects in the web unified registry system SURDOC, CDBP.- Enforcement outreach program in local and extra-local community.
