Equivalent to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as Director in charge of bank feasibility analysis and coordinating the process of reimbursing deposits to failed bank clients.Main accomplishments:• Study to determine the feasibility of providing government financial support to Banco del Sureste, or the convenience of closing the bank, based on financial and social costs. Decision to close the bank based on findings.• Coordination and supervision of the deposit reimbursement process in Banco del Sureste, the largest deposit insurance operation in Mexico to date. More than 10,000 bank clients were attended in record time.

Mexico's Department of Transportation and Communications, working in areas related to economic and sector analysis and strategic planning, in progressively responsible positions (Director, Joint General Director), ending as General Director of Planning (second level below the Secretary)Major Accomplishments:• Preparation and final draft of the 2001-2006 Development Program for the Mexican Transportation and Communications Sector, coordinating the work of the Office of the President and that of each head of the different modes of transportation and communications.• Installed and managed a dedicated satellite TV channel for the SCT, for training and communication with its offices in each state. It required the negotiation of different agreements between the Secretary of Transportation and Communications and the Secretary of Education, as well as the coordination of satellite time and TV production teams.

In charge of planning areas of the bank (Strategic Planning, Budget, Economic Studies and Forecast, Profitability Analysis, Management Information, and Marketing).Major Acomplishments:• Financial projections for the authorization by the Ministry of Finance (SHCP) to open a new bank (Banco Alianza). Together with shareholders and CEO, designed and developed the bank from the ground up.• Coordinated the selection of bank systems, development of products and procedures, personnel selection, bank office and installations, goal setting, etc. to reach the authorization to begin operations.• One month after starting operations, Banco Alianza was acquired by GE Capital at more than book value.
