Directs operations and provides technical knowledge and expertise in the maintenance, operations and construction of the City of San Antonio's Street Maintenance Division. Ensures efficiency and effectiveness of Street Maintenance Division by benchmarking to both public and private sector standards. Contacts and meets with the public, community groups, utility companies, and material and heavy equipment suppliers to insure optimum project quality and coordination. Works with other internal TCI divisions and other City departments to develop policies, ordinances and long and short-term goals necessary to maximize efficiency and service. Reviews plans and specifications for new construction or maintenance projects. Supervises the receipt of bids; recommends the awarding of contracts.

Responsible for assisting the respective TCI Operations Manager in planning, scheduling, and directing the maintenance, construction, and administrative activities of the City of San Antonio's Street Maintenance division.

Responsible for performing technical and supervisory work assigning, coordinating, and evaluating Inspectors' job assignments for the City of San Antonio's Capital Improvements Management Services Department.

Responsible for directing the activities and personnel engaged in street maintenance and reconstruction. Work involved inspecting work and equipment, preparing reports and assigning work schedules.
