Frank praises and rewards his team for outstanding performance but also provides constructive criticism if someone on the team is not meeting expectations. One example of this leadership is when one of the primary team members on Frank's team was performing far below expectations, jeopardizing not only the software delivery but also the team dynamic. Frank set up regular one on one discussions with this individual, letting him know that his performance needed to improve but also providing coaching to help drive this improvement. Additionally, Frank helped to calm the rest of the team and ensure the low performing employee was given another chance. Both the low performing individual and the other team members expressed to me their appreciation for Frank's handling of the situation. This is just one example of how Frank earned the trust and respect of his team and Customer. Professionally, Frank was always an excellent employee. He knew what he needed to do in order to be successful and escalated issues appropriately as needed. He made well thought out decisions in a timely manner and always had the full respect and trust of his team and Customer. On a more personal note, I truly enjoyed working with Frank.
