The FranallenJam is a yearly celebration of the marriage of Fran and Mark van Allen. The first annual Jam was held at Eddie's Attic after our wedding on April 25, 2010 with over 30 musicians ready to jump on the stage and share their amazing music.Each year the show has been held at a different venue around the ATL area and until we moved to a small town south of Athens. 2014, FAJV was held at New Earth Music Hall and FAJVI will be there again. We are working on becoming a non profit and our goal is to raise money for Honeybee Research and the Athens Farmer's Market SNAP Program. Every year we add more great music and events. Our silent auction features many original works by local artists. Come out and celebrate live music, and help support some great causes that affect us all!

Case manage 12-16 terminally ill patients in their homes, wherever that may be. About half of my patients reside in nursing homes or assisted living. My responsibilities to my patients, are pain, medication, and symptom management, grief support and referral to other disciplines, and often bereavement support for the family after the patient's death. I attend biweekly team meetings, conferring with the hospice Medical Director and the hospice care team in order to provide the very best end of life care possible for my patients.

I was the sole licensed health care provider for four Alzheimers Dementia Assisted Living Cottages, in the Houston TX area for the first nine months of employment. With the COO a fellow RN, I later wrote policies and procedures, provided oversight and training for medication administration, and assisted in creating a new medication system for the company. I provided assessments for appropriate admissions, preparation for and adherence to state and federal regulations and surveys, and ongoing evaluations with recommendations for the staff in order to ensure proper medical care for the residents.

Responsible for clinical operations for 94 bed Alzheimer's Assisted Living with oversight of medical staff of 70+. Communication with families, consultants, and management, education of professionals and the general public.

Acted as liaison between physicians, case managers, discharge planners, hospital staff and families and the hospice. Assessed and completed admissions to hospice program, provided education and support for families and patients, assisted with home visits, conducted pain and symptom control seminars and classes for health care professionals for Continuing Education Credits.

Started with this company as a case manager when the company had 12 employees and 5 patients. Grew with the company and eventually took the position of Director of Nurses for the Houston area. Responsibilities as case manager included developing and implementing plans of care for 12- 20 terminally ill patients and their families, on call duties with triage and death calls, supervision of CNAs and LVNs, and recommendations for pain and symptom control. As Director of Nurses I managed the nursing department of 8 RNs, 5 LVNs and 12 CNAs and oversaw the operations for the 70 patient hospice. Also coordinated admissions, care plan meetings, discharges all within federal and state guidelines.
