Managed the spare parts logistics group in IBM

Led the continuous improvements, process and system improvements, strategy, and change management functions for a 4PL enterprise that managed Telstra’s spare parts supply chain. Continuously improved processes to service Telstra’s national network of 485 unmanned warehouses, distribution center and repair vendors, with the intention of having the right spare at the right place at the right time at the least cost. Was responsible for process and system integration of the 3PL contractors that managed warehousing and distribution, vendors, and the internally managed contact center and repair center functions and customer assurance functions.Key activities:• Identifying improvement opportunities, business case development, business sponsorship, implementation and change management.• Integration of end to end systems and processes across the supply chain, including 3PL contractors that manage the warehousing and transport, internally managed contact center, repair centers and vendors, order management and customer assurance processes.• Development of KPI metrics, operational reporting suite and analysis of data for continuous improvement opportunities• Running requirement workshops, clearly documenting business requirements, validation of process designs, verification of IT solutions.• Training, change management, risks and issues management.• Identify and resolve process and system gaps

Led the IBM spare parts logistics business team in Telstra’s major business and IT program to transform their spare parts supply chain. Led a team of eight IBM SMEs in developing and implementing the transformed supply chain processes in coordination with Telstra’s business stakeholders and Telstra’s IT vendors.Key activities:• Active leadership and participation in every phase of the digital transformation program including process design, IT requirements, SAP blueprint, verification and testing, change management and implementation activities.• Trained 10 key business SMEs who had no SAP experience in using the new SAP based system. Led the business team in the verification of the SAP solution. Helped the business get through a critical learning curve at the beginning of the testing phase. Worked closely with the business team and helped them understand the SAP processes and relate them to the As Is and To Be business processes.• Successfully conducted on site user training of 30 call center staff prior to implementation of the transformed business process and SAP system.• Defined and developed five level 2 processes and more than 30 level 3 processes for the transformed supply chain.• Key role in operational activities like training, process documentation, user roles, permissions and onboarding, set up of warehouses, data migration, cutover activities including inflight transactions, vendor onboarding and transport provider set up.• Actively collaborated with the Business Team, the Customer and the IT vendors to identify solution gaps and contradictions between the SAP and business processes. Maintained strong and open communication with the different stakeholders to resolve disputes and bring all stakeholders to a common understanding of the IT and Business Processes.• Managed change management activities including training, process maps, user guides, work instructions and stakeholder engagement.

Developed specifications in Rosettanet standard to interface Telstra SAP based ERP system and 3PL systems including Telstra’s major transport partner Toll and key vendors like Ericsson, IBM and Alcatel. The specifications enabled electronic communication between Telstra and Toll for transport requests and real time track and trace events, electronic communication of purchase orders to Telstra’s vendors and receipt of advance shipment notices from Telstra’s vendors.

Successfully led the testing effort in implementing interfaces between Telstra’s supply chain and assurance systems.

Led a production support team of four onshore and fifteen offshore staff to manage a Maximo based supply chain system.
