I am a AOV/ICE/CEMS specialist with 34 years experience in the Instrumentation, Controls and Electronic fields for nuclear power plants. Member IBEW local 558 . This is an example of how a typical AOV diagnostic test is performed using correct component verification in the CV/ IV format mode with circle slash place keeping ,if any issue with the task package is found, the evolution is stopped until the issue is mitigated . In this test a Viper analyzer for a nuclear power was used. First step would involve Identifying the valve to be tested and making sure it was safety isolated from the process . Second step select the correct I/P's and encoder for the parameters which are being tested, making sure the serial # and ranges are entered into the computer . Step three performing a drop test and carefully check all pneumatic connection for air leakage. After being Positive there are no leaks a AL baseline test would be be started However before the test was run all air system filters are cleaned , the Positioner was correctly calibrated with the pilot cleaned , checking the linkage, cam and coupling for wear are very important .Usually after a couple of test the data captured is down loaded on a memory chip to be analyzed by a AOV engineer. ,If the valve experienced problems the team would work together to correct the problem then run a new test. My instrumentation skills include installation start up , calibration and repair of process control systems .. Many years experience in industrial electrical, . I have a current TWIC Card. and nuclear clearance credentials I have the ability to perform all required skills of an Instrument Control and Electronic Technician , being computer experienced , with clearance tag outs, work order system to track task developments , like if the task is ready or awaiting clearance , using the system to provide feed back on the task performed
