I graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1985. Shortly after graduation I joined the USAF and after basic training/tech school wound up stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska. It was in Alaska that I met Jane and we were married in 1986. After my 4-year tour I became a civilian and worked various construction jobs including hard wood flooring, fencing, and scaffolding.In 1996 we moved from Vancouver to Lynwood, Washington and Jane and I both went back to school at Edmonds Community College. In 1997, while finishing up the last few quarters at ECC, I was diagnosed with cancer. 3 surgeries and 4 months of chemotherapy later, we were able to finish our degrees and moved to Ellensburg, Washington to attend Central Washington University.In 2000 we graduated from CWU, both with Bachelors in Education Degrees with K-8 and Special Education endorsements. We moved back to Vancouver and started working for Evergreen School District as special education teachers. After my first year I moved buildings to help open Shahala Middle School .In 2005 I moved to the district office in the role of Technology Coordinator, where I was responsible for training teachers on technology integration. In 2012 I was hired as the Technology Director at Centennial School District in Portland, Oregon. In this role I manage the I.T. department for the district, the print shop, and serve as the district test coordinator. The ITC (Instructional Technology Department) has 12 employees and serves 6000 students and 800 staff members. Jane and I have been married for 35 years now and have raised 3 wonderful children. We also are proud grandparents of 7 grandchildren.
