As a professional designer, I remain committed to promoting the professional practice of design at all levels, from education through to the everyday activity of design, in all it's forms.Recently, I've been concentrating on Design Management, I particularly enjoy working with designers from different disciplines and backgrounds, where there's strong creative interaction on multi-disciplinary projects.My real interests are in Brand Design and Corporate Identity. I've also built up considerable expertise in the areas of Intellectual Property and Trademark Registration, through practical 'hands on' involvement and attending industry seminars and workshops, to give me a more comprehensive understanding of the entire process. I enjoy the challenge of creating unique design solutions and the whole implementation process for new Corporate Images. I particularly enjoy signage design applications, involving structural problem solving, which afford an opportunity to work in 3D, illumination and the use of different materials like metal, glass, wood and composites. I've studied signage design internationally and like to keep continually aware of new trends and construction techniques.Professional SkillsMy career to date, while largely design driven, has provided me with a range of business and management skill sets. Broadly based, media, advertising, marketing and public relations activities mean I have acquired a comprehensive working knowledge of strategic planning and problem solving expertise from my accumulated experience of working for retail, commercial, business and professional client services. As a company director and employer, I have first hand experience in employee and staff relations, while on the other hand, developing and maintaining relationships with clients.I can competently organise and manage large projects, bringing together a variety of specialists and contributors to meet the project objectives, budget and critical path to delivery.Specialties: I can illustrate competently, in particular the visualisation of buildings and structures as artists impressions or of prototype industrial and consumer products, thanks to a high level of spatial awareness.I am a keen photographer with a catalogue of over 15,000 images which are available for use in publications and projects.I am an accomplished Calligrapher and have taught the subject at graduate level and combine this with a professional interest in typeface design and letterforms.
